Gu Yao Liang's career has led him to a seat on both the China National Lawyer's Association and the Shanghai Lawyer's Association , as well as being an Arbitrator of the China International Economic & Trade Arbitration Commission and the China Maritime Arbitration Commission.
Gu Yao Liang's international standing has brought him to cooperate with the Counsel of Foreign Jurisdiction , as well as various foreign court proceedings in Germany , the United Kingdom , the United States , Norway and Hong Kong . He has furthermore represented clients in arbitration proceedings in foreign jurisdictions , including in the United Kingdom , Belgium , Singapore , Hong Kong and Sweden ( the Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce).
He has moreover participated in the negotiations of and /or drafted Term Loan Agreements and Syndicated Loan Agreements involving a number of foreign banks in China , and negotiated , discussed and prepared all legal documents in relation to the ship-exporting business and other transactions for whole package equipment export and import.
Before founding Yao Liang Law Office, he was Managing Partner at King & Wood PRC Lawyers Shanghai Office, as well as Manager at the Shanghai Representative Office of Robert Lee & Fong Law Office.
Gu Yao Liang was educated at the Peking Institute for Foreign Trade in Beijing, and the Law School of Louisiana State University, USA.
